London-based Lorenz.OG continues to show his creativity by teaming up with Umbro Japan and BEAMS, for an exclusive capsule called “The 12th Man.” As is usually the case with Lorenz.OG he manages to tie every aspect together. The collaboration finds its common ground in shared admiration, Umbro’s deep sporting legacy, BEAMS way of refining and Lorenz.OG’s distinctive style and way of storytelling are all coming together in one thoughtful, limited-edition release.
A Dialogue Between Past and Present
What makes “The 12th Man” so unique is its understanding of culture. Lorenz.OG reinterprets it in his own way, as a living archive. Umbro, a brand synonymous with football’s golden age, provides the perfect canvas to do so. Its silhouettes recall a time when sport and style were closely tied in which each other. A time where a jersey was seen as a uniform and a symbol of being part of a culture. Lorenz takes this knowledge and rewrites it using his signature dusk gradients, reflective details and references drawn from Rome, SS Lazio, and the celestial figure of St Michael the Archangel, who crowns his personal crest.
Between Earth, Faith, and Flight
The capsule consists of three jerseys, three tracksuits, and a single quarter-zip, each made with precision and emotion. The garments feature reflective 3M embroidery, premium construction, and dual-branding capturing both Umbro’s prowess and Lorenz’s eye for gradient design. Per usual, colours play a crucial role in shaping the narrative. The palette mirrors the light of dusk over Castel Sant’Angelo, where soft blues and muted greys bleed into one another.
The Spirit of the Twelfth Man
In football, the phrase “The Twelfth Man” represents the fans, the heartbeat of every match, the unseen force that boost a team beyond its limits. Lorenz.OG and Umbro follow that spirit as an act of faith. For Lorenz, the number 12 is something deeper, symbolising unity, divine balance, and endurance. Football isn’t just about the crows, it is about connecting with all of those who gives themselves fully to something, it doesn’t matter if that’s sport, art, or belief. Every piece in this capsule becomes a tribute to those unseen engines, to those people who still turn up in the pouring rain, sing aloud with their club anthems, and live through every emotion through the game.
A Global Story, Told in Japan
The collection finds its home in Tokyo, through an exclusive BEAMS pop-up from the 7th to the 9th of November 2025. Japan has long been a place where detail, discipline, and design all came together. These are values that align with Umbro’s heritage and Lorenz vision. For BEAMS, uniting two powers, one from the East and one from the West is something special.
