Faux scale textures are set to cover the upper, a nod to Kobe’s Black Mamba persona, while his signature is reportedly moulded directly into the midsole, embedding his presence into the structure of the shoe rather than treating it as surface branding. Underfoot, Nike is expected to update the build with a reworked outsole and a removable ReactX insole, elements that have appeared on previous Kobe-inspired Air Force 1 releases and help modernise the feel without straying from the AF-1’s DNA.
