HOKA has officially revealed the Clifton 11, the latest version of one of the most recognisable daily running shoes on the market. Building on more than a decade of innovation the new model refines the formula that made the Clifton a favourite among runners, combining its signature cushioning with a softer feel, updated fit and premium materials designed to make everyday miles more comfortable.
Since its debut in 2014, the Clifton has become one of HOKA’s defining silhouettes, helping establish the brand’s reputation for maximal cushioning without sacrificing lightweight performance. Now in its eleventh iteration, the Clifton 11 stays true to that heritage while also introducing subtle yet meaningful updates aimed at delivering a smoother, more effortless running experience.
Refined for Everyday Performance
Instead of completely reinventing the shoe, HOKA focused on refining the details that matter most. The Clifton 11 features a new engineered jacquard warp-knit mesh upper that offers improved breathability and a more secure, foot-hugging fit, alongside an upgraded ultra-soft open-cell sicklier for enhanced step-in comfort.
Underfoot, the shoe retains the trusted compression-moulded EVA midsole and bottom unit from the Clifton 10, preserving the plush cushioning that has become synonymous with the franchise. HOKA’s signature Smooth Metarocker geometry continues to encourage fluid heel-to-toe transitions, while the rear foot-focused Active Foot Frame cradles the foot to provide natural stability throughout each stride.
Additional performance updates include reflective detailing for improved visibility during low-light runs, strategically placed 3D silicone print overlays for lightweight durability, a highly abrasion-resistant rubber outsole, and a double-lace lock system that allows runners to dial in a more personalised fit.
“Look What Smooth Can Do”
Launching alongside the shoe is HOKA’s new “Look What Smooth Can Do” campaign, which visually captures the effortless ride the Clifton is designed to deliver. Using soft curves and fisheye-inspired imagery, the campaign illustrates how the Clifton 11 helps runners feel as though the world is working with them rather than against them, reinforcing HOKA’s focus on comfort and smooth transitions.
Speaking about the launch, Beech Broke, Senior Director of Performance Footwear at HOKA, explained that the Clifton has earned runners’ trust through its blend of cushioning and innovation for more than a decade, with the Clifton 11 building on that legacy through an improved fit, upgraded upper and enhanced comfort.
