Continuing its long-running approach to bridging Eastern heritage with contemporary street culture, CLOT is taking its first collaboration with the Gundam Series into its official release phase. Partnering with TAMASHII NATIONS, the brand of BANDAI SPIRITS, the projects centres around the GUNDAM FIX FIGURATION METAL COMPOSITE CLOT RX-78-2 GUNDAM Ver. SILK ROYALE, a premium collectible that reworks one of anime’s most recognisable machines through CLOT’s distinctive lens.
The projects centres around first generated attention at ComplexCon Hong Kong 2026, where the collaboration was previewed through an exclusive exhibition in March. Now, following months of anticipation, the rose-gold RX-78-2 is ready to move from showcase piece to global release, accompanied by an apparel capsule collection.
At the centre of the figure is the RX-78-2 GUNDAM, drawing from the Mobile Suit Gundam THE ORIGIN interpretation of the iconic machine. CLOT’s signature Silk Royale motif is worked across the design, creating a striking contrast between the mechanical geometry of the Gundam and the more ornate visual language associated with the Hong Kong label.
The most immediate change comes through the rose-gold metallic finish. Where the RX-78-2 traditionally carries a utilitarian military aesthetic, the metallic treatment gives the machine a considerably more luxurious presence. Intricate Silk Royale patterning further breaks up the mechanical surfaces, allowing the figure to shift between futuristic machine and highly detailed decorative object.
Die-Cast Craftmanship
The figure sits within the GUNDAM FIX FIGURATION METAL COMPOSITE line, a premium series known for its combination of die-cast metal components, detailed finishes and highly articulated construction. The use of die-cast alloy gives the CLOT version a substantial physical presence, while the extensive surface details reinforce the collectible’s aspect.
From RX-78-2 to Zaku II
Alongside the finished RX-78-2 the ComplexCon presentation also introduced a reference prototype for the G.F.F.M.C. CLOT MS-06S CHAR’S ZAKU II Ver. ALIENEGRA, giving fans an early looks at another potential extension of the collaboration.
The ZAKU. II adopts CLOT’s Alienegra graphic language, giving a much darker counterpoint to the rose-gold Silk Royale RX-78-2. Its silhouette is paired with ted Alienegra graphics.
CLOT Takes Gundam Into Streetwear
The collaboration doesn’t stop with the collectibles. CLOT also created an accompanying apparel capsule comprising graphic T-shirts, tote bags and caps, allowing the Gundam project to become wearable.
The RX-78-2 T-shirt takes direct inspiration from the mobile suit’s detailed schematics, layering Gundam graphics with CLOT branding and the rose-gold Silk Royale pattern seen on the figure. The second T-shirt references the unreleased MS-06S CHAR’S ZAKU II Ver. ALIENEGRA prototype shown at ComplexCon.
Both T-shirts feature a co-branded “CG” logo on the right sleeve, while the left sleeve carries faction insignias from the Gundam universe. The Earth Federation Forces emblem and Principality of Zeon insignia are also carried across the accompanying tote bags and caps, creating a consistent visual system throughout the capsule.
