On December 13th, Footpatrol hosted the highly-anticipated launch of Lucien Clarke’s signature skate shoe with DC Shoes – the DC Shoes Lucien in Brown/Tan. The event brought together skateboarding enthusiasts, sneakerheads, and London’s vibrant creative community for an unforgettable night filled with music, art, and skate culture.

A Celebration of Lucien Clarke’s Legacy

Lucien Clarke, a Jamaican-born, London-raised skateboarding icon and Palace Skateboards Pro, has become a defining figure in the global skateboarding scene. His unique style and creative approach to both skating and life have earned him widespread admiration, proving that skateboarding is not just a hobby but a way of life. Lucien’s influence extends far beyond the board, inspiring a whole generation. Having seen him in action countless times, it’s clear that his momentum is only building, with no signs of slowing down.

Lucien’s roots, from St. Andrew, Jamaica, to the streets of London, have inspired his career and creative endeavors. Now, as a pro rider for DC Shoes since 2022, this collaboration embodies his skateboarding journey, creativity, and lifestyle. The shoe launch marks a significant milestone for both Lucien and DC Shoes.

The DC Shoes Lucien: A Modern Skate Icon

The DC Shoes Lucien in Brown/Tan is a low-top skate shoe that pays homage to the chunky silhouettes of skateboarding’s golden era while incorporating modern design and performance features. The shoe perfectly balances the retro aesthetics we all love with cutting-edge construction to maximise the demands of today’s skaters. The shoe embodies Lucien’s unique style, offering both function and flair for skaters and sneaker fans alike.

The Footpatrol event featured DJ Stuart Hammond, who curated the night’s soundtrack and set a relaxed, personal vibe. Unfortunately, I missed the signed posters that Lucien Clarke gave away, but as always, they created a memorable moment for the crowd who came down. As far as community activations go, this one brought together the right people. With skate decks piled by the door, Lucien and Footpatrol have cultivated an organic audience that truly celebrates skate culture in its purest form. It was an evening that honoured the art of skating and the sense of unity the sport inspires.
