DESCENTE ALLTERRAIN has partnered with acclaimed Japanese graphic designer Yuri Uenishi to launch a limited-edition capsule collection that combines technical apparel design with contemporary visual art. Inspired by Uenishi’s 2024 solo exhibition, “Now Printing”, the collection transforms a selection of her distinctive graphic works into wearable pieces that sit at the intersection of functionality and creative expression.
The graphics featured throughout the collection originate from fragments of everyday life documented by Uenishi since 2006. Blurring the boundaries between photography and graphic design, reality and abstraction, and digital and analogue processes, her work introduces a unique visual language that complements DESCENTE ALLTERRAIN’s performance-focused approach. By applying these motifs across technical garments and accessories, the collaboration creates a dialogue between artistic exploration and modern utility.
The capsule includes an open-collar shirt, seamless T-shirt, shorts, jet cap and sacoche bag, each incorporating Uenishi’s artwork while maintaining the performance features associated with DESCENTE ALLTERRAIN. Water-repellent fabrics, quick-drying materials, stretch functionality and lightweight construction ensure the collection remains practical while serving as a canvas for contemporary graphic design.
To coincide with the launch, a special exhibition showcasing Yuri Uenishi’s work will be held at DESCENTE BLANC Daikanyama, further highlighting the creative vision behind the collaboration. The project reinforces DESCENTE ALLTERRAIN’s commitment to combining technical innovation with cultural storytelling, creating products that move beyond performance apparel into the wider world of design and visual communication.
